Wes holds no grudge against Maxwell, who imprisoned him, and he now cheers up fellow Survivors in the Constant. According to the passport found in the girl’s house, the stranger replaced by Wes was George T. Witherstone, the former creditor of William Carter. This explains why Maxwell imprisoned Wes after he failed to retaliate. So, if you’re up for a challenge and enjoy playing a mime with a penchant for bad luck, Wes might be the character for you in DST!

Maxwell
In Game Description: Is dapper, but frail. Can split his mind into pieces. On a first-name basis with the night.

He initially appears at the beginning of the game, instructing players to gather food and build a campfire before mysteriously disappearing into a cloud of smoke1. Maxwell’s backstory is intriguing. Before becoming the enigmatic figure we know, he was a penniless man named William Carter from London. William dreamed of being a world-renowned magician. His life changed dramatically when he acquired the Codex Umbra, a powerful book of dark magic. Embracing this newfound power, he shed his old meek persona and became the charismatic “Amazing Maxwell.” Fame and success followed, but the dark knowledge within the Codex began to cloud his mind and heart. In his final performance, Maxwell lost control of the shadow magic, and both he and his stage assistant, Charlie, were pulled into the Constant—a mysterious and dangerous world where the game takes place. There, Maxwell remains tethered to the Nightmare Throne, ensnaring more victims in the Constant’s trap. Despite his past actions, he is baffled and annoyed that someone he tricked into the Constant could find it in their heart to set him free1. Maxwell’s playstyle revolves around his Sanity. He can manage it easily with the aid of his book, the Codex Umbra. This unique item allows him to fragment his mind and create shadow puppets that assist him with various tasks. Although he is dapper and charismatic, Maxwell’s maximum health is limited to 75 points. His Sanity, however, constantly increases over time, making him an intriguing character to play in DST.

In Game Description: Whoever they were, they're a monkey now.
Wonkey is a hidden internal character exclusive to Don’t Starve Together. The transformation into Wonkey is a curse, but it comes with small upsides. Here are some details about Wonkey: Background: Wonkey is one of the playable characters who has fallen victim to the Curse of the Moon Quay pirates. The transformation occurs when a player acquires 10 Accursed Trinkets while playing as any character. These trinkets fill up an inventory slot and stack up to 10. Once the player has the required number of trinkets, they transform into Wonkey, replacing their previous character. Stats and Perks: As Wonkey, players lose access to any character-specific abilities, crafting recipes, and damage modifiers. Wonkey’s basic stats are generally lower than most other characters, except for Wes. Specifically, Wonkey’s starting stats are comparable to WX-78’s, but with more hunger and less sanity1. Quotes: When transforming into Wonkey, characters react with various lines. For example: Wilson: “I’m feeling a little wonkey…” WX-78: “AAAAAAAA NO NO NO UNDO!! REVERT!!” Maxwell (after returning to their original form): "Thank Odin, the curse hath been lifted.
